Heather Yountz is a trial and appellate attorney focusing mainly on immigration and criminal defense. She began her law career as a clerk for Justice Scott L. Kafker, the current Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Court of Appeals. From 2008-2010, Attorney Yountz worked as an asylum attorney in the Immigration Unit at Greater Boston Legal Services, focusing her practice on asylum and other human rights based cases. In 2010, Attorney Yountz joined the Law Office of Samia Chandraker, where she handled all forms of immigration relief including employment and family-based cases. Attorney Yountz has been an attorney at Demissie &Church since 2015, and her practice focuses on employingher civil and criminal litigation experience to provide the highest quality representation of immigrants, criminal defendants, and clients in family and other civil matters.
Attorney Yountz completed legal internships at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Greater Boston Legal Services (GBLS) Immigration Unit, Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination (MCAD), and Prince, Lobel and Tye. Attorney Yountz was an Adjunct Professor of Law and Literature at Northeastern University School of Law, and she frequently gives lectures and conducts seminars at the law school.
